Caitlin's Fantastic Fundraising Achievements
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Caitlin Marie Bonnar, a Paisley teenager, who launched a fundraising drive in honour of her nana and raised £1,750 for the Beatson Cancer Charity; notes that Caitlin’s nana, Jeanette, was diagnosed with lymphoma of the spleen in March 2023 and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment at the Beatson Cancer Centre, and that Caitlin wanted to show her gratitude to those who administered her nana’s lifesaving care; understands that the 19-year-old launched two dance masterclasses for children this summer, who then went on to perform the routines they had learned at a charity night at the Blacklandmill Bowling Club; further understands that the dancers were aged between five and 14, that each group performed three dances on the night, and that the night was topped off when Jeanette felt well enough to attend and even help out with the raffle at the end of the night; commends Caitlin for her fantastic fundraising achievements, and wishes Jeanette the very best in her ongoing treatment.
