The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the North Lanarkshire Recovery Community, which walked the West Highland Way in August 2023; understands that the group, based in North Lanarkshire, has been working tirelessly to make recovery visible and reduce the stigma that is often associated with addiction; further understands that the Community provides a valuable support network for people who are struggling with addiction, including organised activities and a recovery café where people can make connections to support them on their recovery journey; notes that Dave Gallagher, John Fullerton and Thomas Buchanan of Recovery Scotland, along with volunteers, Walter Evans, Paul Dougan and Stuart Robertson, participated in the walk, and thanks everyone involved for their ongoing dedication to reducing the stigma of addiction and providing valuable support services in our communities.
