The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Queen’s Park Church, Govanhill, on hosting a "chatter and natter" table at its lunch stop, which is an affordable café run by community and church members; understands that a "chatter and natter" table creates a space for people to talk, whether for five minutes while having a coffee or an hour of good conversation; notes that the table is not primarily to build friendships, but for simple interactions to combat loneliness and to make an impact on someone’s day; acknowledges that, although the aims of the scheme are to reduce loneliness and get people chatting, the word "loneliness" is not featured on any publicity displayed in cafés operating a "chatter and natter" table within their premises, but instead it is very positive and focuses on bringing people of all ages and from all walks of life together; understands that the Chatty Café Scheme is the UK’s leading non-profit organisation tackling loneliness, and commends Queen's Park Church for adopting a table.
