Befriend a Child

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates all of those who took part in the recent golf day at Newmachar Golf Club in aid of Befriend a Child on 18 August 2023; understands that £7,800 was raised for the charity, which helps children growing up in difficult circumstances across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire; further understands that Befriend a Child carries out one-to-one sessions, group sessions and mentorship programmes, all of which aim to give children the best chances in life; notes that befriending sessions carried out by Befriend a Child help those who use the charity to gain increased levels of confidence, self-esteem and can show them new skills from fun activities whilst reducing social isolation; commends everyone involved with the golf day for their contribution to a great cause, and wishes Befriend a Child all the best for the future.
