Cambusnethan Miners Charitable Society Lifesaving Contribution to the Community

The motion

That the Parliament commends the fundraising efforts of Cambusnethan Miners Charitable Society, which recently donated a lifesaving defibrillator to Made4U in ML2; understands that, initially, the Cambusnethan Miners Charitable Society hosted a fundraiser to raise funds to purchase and install an external defibrillator at the Cambusnethan Club, until London Hearts offered funding that enabled the charity to purchase a further defibrillator for the Made4U in ML2 community hub; further understands that, every week in Scotland, around 70 people have a cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public place, and that starting CPR as soon as possible will give the person the best chance of survival, but that being able to use a defibrillator within the first few minutes of collapse increases that chance even further; thanks the club’s president, Alex Paris, and all the members, for their contribution to the community, and wishes them all well with their future community ventures.
