Heriot-Watt University Ranked Top University for Producing Business Leaders

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Heriot-Watt University, with campuses in Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders and Orkney, on being named as a top university in Scotland and the UK for producing entrepreneurs and business leaders; understands that a study conducted by Novuna Business Cash Flow found that 15.76% of Heriot-Watt graduates have transitioned into corporate leadership roles; welcomes that the university was, it understands, also crowned best in Scotland, and sixth overall in the UK, for the number of entrepreneurs and business founders that it produces; understands that the report surveyed 121 UK universities and studied 9.7 million alumni profiles on LinkedIn to understand the accomplishments of university graduates; considers that Heriot-Watt University has a distinguished history in enterprise and entrepreneurship and fosters strong links to industry and business; acknowledges the university’s commitment to developing and educating future leaders as a way to drive innovation, prosperity, and positive change in society; believes that the study reaffirms the University’s reputation as an incubator of Scotland and the UK’s business leaders and innovators, and wishes the university and its staff continued success in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit across Scotland and the UK.
