Braidhurst High School Praised by Inspectors

The motion

That the Parliament commends pupils and staff at Braidhurst High School, in Motherwell, for receiving praise from Education Scotland in a recent inspection; understands that the new head teacher, Tracey McDermott, was praised for her vision to further improve the school; notes that Braidhurst High School has over 540 pupils, and hosts a Scottish Football Association Performance School, as well as two local authority football programmes, which are the School of Football and the Girls' School of Football; understands that more than a third of young people at Braidhurst High School attend these programmes, coming from almost 40 primary schools across Scotland; praises the school on its strong, respectful ethos, as cited by Education Scotland, and wishes the school community all the very best for the future.
