Children’s Hospices Across Scotland Helping Children and Their Families
The motion
That the Parliament thanks Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) for the work that it does to support children with life-shortening conditions and their families; understands that CHAS is the single specialist provider of hospice services for babies, children and young people across Scotland, and that it provides unwavering care for children and their loved ones at every step on what it sees as the hardest of journeys; acknowledges that Robin House in Balloch is one of its two hospices, which, alongside Rachel House and the CHAS at Home service, is a vital resource for families; recognises that, in the West Scotland region during 2022-23, the charity has supported 56 children and their families and has seen 85 admissions for hospice care, including facilitating 350 hospice bed nights and 212 CHAS at Home visits to 19 children, and thanks CHAS for its support for children and families in Scotland.
