Scottish Library and Information Council Outgoing Chair, Ian Ruthven

That the Parliament congratulates the outgoing chair of the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC), Professor Ian Ruthven; understands that his achievements while in post include leading the library sector through the COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing the development of Forward: Scotland’s Public Library Strategy, and serving as a champion for Scotland’s libraries; recognises that his six years of service make him the longest-serving SLIC chair in the organisation’s history, and wishes SLIC the best in the coming years, building on what it sees as the successes that it achieved under Professor Ruthven’s tenure.
