Doddie Weir Foundation Wins Just Giving Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation on being named Charity of the Year at this year’s GoCardless JustGiving Awards; understands that Doddie Weir’s Foundation was chosen for its work on investing in research projects across the UK seeking effective treatments for motor neurone disease (MND); notes that the charity’s annual Doddie Aid fundraising event raised more than £2 million in 2023, and doubled the number of participants; further notes that it recently launched its research strategy, Catalysing a Cure, which will guide how it invests funds raised, and pays tribute to Doddie Weir’s legacy of raising awareness of MND, which the Foundation continues to honour.
