NLC Provost Excellence Award for Jim Melvin

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jim Melvin on receiving the esteemed North Lanarkshire Council’s Provost Excellence Award 2023; understands that award recipients are determined by local people nominating individuals or groups that have committed to improving the lives of others; notes that Jim has been employed by Coatbridge Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB) for over 20 years; understands that he has advised and supported numerous local residents on a range of issues, and commends him for this; further understands that, through his work, Jim has achieved many positive results for people in poverty, unemployment, homelessness, and an array of other individuals and families in North Lanarkshire that experience inequalities, and thanks Jim for his ongoing support, not only for the local community, but also for his CAB colleagues.
