National Lottery Community Fund Support for Good Causes in Eastwood

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the recent allocation of financial aid from the National Lottery Community Fund to support good causes in Eastwood; recognises that a funding award of £9,500 has been made to Mearns Kirk Helping Hands, in Newton Mearns, which it believes to be an incredible community-focused charity that provides a range of support including for people living with dementia; further recognises that a funding award totalling £9,332 has also been made to the Back to SchoolBank East Renfrewshire, which is a group that provides school uniforms to children whose families are experiencing hardship; notes that £5,000 of funding has been made available to the Diversity Group and that this financial support will be used to reduce the social isolation experienced by people belonging to a minority ethnic group in East Renfrewshire, through the organisation of activities and workshops; further notes that the National Lottery Community Fund provides over £600 million of financial support to communities across the UK annually, and welcomes the recent award of funding to organisations covering Eastwood to support important community-focused activity.
