Hillhead High School Pupils Raise £633.56 for Morocco and Libya Appeal
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the S6 Charities Committee of Hillhead High School on raising £633.56 for the Morocco and Libya appeal in September 2023; understands that a number of pupils at Hillhead High School have families in both Morocco and Libya and that the school's Duke of Edinburgh Gold Exhibition Group was due to go to Morocco as part of its award before the devastating earthquake; further understands that the Charities Committee is well aware of the cost of the school day and is sensitive to the demands on families, so kept its fundraising endeavours simple and inclusive; understands that the committee arranged for daily school Tannoy messages explaining to staff and pupils why it was raising money and that it had a stall at the entrance to the school building every interval and lunchtime so that people could give what they could if they wanted to, and congratulates the S6 Charities Committee on its fantastic fundraising.
