East Renfrewshire Good Causes Key Safe Success
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the work of an East Renfrewshire charity for supporting more than 130 vulnerable people to have their own key safes; notes that at the beginning of 2022, East Renfrewshire Good Causes established a partnership with housing charity, Care and Repair, to make provision for a discounted service for installing the key safes; understands that a key safe can be hugely important for ensuring a vulnerable person's care needs are able to be met as the box can be installed outside of an individual's home and allows both carers and family members to enter a pin number to retrieve the key and gain entry to the property; acknowledges that the outdoor key safe can be particularly important in emergency situations; believes that East Renfrewshire Good Causes has a track record of success in delivering small practical improvements for those in need, which can then make a significant difference to an individual's life, and considers that the key safe initiative is another example of the charity's incredible work to support vulnerable people.
