Laurieston Old Folks Association Receives Rotary Club Donation

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Laurieston Old Folks Welfare Association on the cash donation it has received from the Rotary Club in Falkirk; understands that the donation will boost the fundraising that Laurieston Old Folks Welfare Association has already been doing by hosting coffee mornings each week, hiring out its Old People’s Welfare Hall and holding concerts and raffles; notes that the money raised will be used to make improvements for older villagers, including by installing a disabled toilet in the Old People’s Welfare Hall; considers that the importance of these events held by the Laurieston Old Folks Welfare Association in not only in fundraising, but in providing a recurring social event for older members of the community, helping to tackle any feelings of loneliness or isolation; believes that the very generous donation of £500 made by the Rotary Club in Falkirk will be hugely beneficial in assisting with the projects that Laurieston Old Folks Welfare Association has planned; congratulates Laurieston Old Folks Welfare Association and the Rotary Club in Falkirk on the additional funding, and looks forward to seeing their projects come to fruition in the future.
