Topgolf Shortlisted for Prestigious Regeneration Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Topgolf Recruitment on being shortlisted for the 2023 SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration; understands that Topgolf has been nominated in the Removing Barriers to Employability category; notes that Topgolf opened its first Scottish destination in Rutherglen in December 2022; recognises that Topgolf has created over 300 new jobs at the Rutherglen venue, including a mix of full and part-time positions across front of house, maintenance, kitchen and bar staff; notes that the company, in partnership with Clyde Gateway and developer, Ashfield Land, targeted its recruitment drive at school leavers, parent returners and career changers; understands that approximately 78% of new employees live locally to the venue, and wishes Topgolf the best of luck at the 2023 SURF awards ceremony, which is being held in Glasgow in December 2023.
