The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Home-Start Edinburgh on growing the number of families that it has supported in the first year of operation following a merger; understands that, through merging Home-Start Leith and North East and Home-Start Edinburgh West and South West, the family charity now provides support through volunteers for families with young children who are struggling, and has increased efficiency by extending its reach to cover all parts of the city, and has supported 17% more families in its first year of expanded operation; further understands that the organisation continues to see increased demand for its services due to increased financial pressures on families during the cost of living crisis and the increased need from refugee and migrant communities that have been displaced from their existing support networks, as well as families facing increasingly complex situations, and considers that the charity plays an important role in helping to ensure that all children in Scotland get a fair start in life, which will help them grow up to live happy and healthy lives and contribute to the wellbeing of society.
