Gold for Galston Gladiator

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates 14-year-old Maryjane Torrie, from Galston, East Ayrshire, on winning gold in the WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) European Kickboxing Championships in Istanbul; notes that Maryjane, who trains with her instructor, Craig Foster, at Galston Gladiators, has won multiple Scottish and British titles, and a world title, in events organised by many kickboxing associations such as WKA, WKC, WKU, ICO and WUMA; understands that, in 2023, Maryjane gained entry to Team GB by winning multiple golds in competitions in Nottingham and Bath, and travelled to Istanbul to take part in the under-19 WAKO European Kickboxing Championships, facing strong competition and winning gold; congratulates Maryjane on this outstanding achievement, and wishes her all the best with her very promising career ahead.
