Baby Loss Awareness Week 2023

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Baby Loss Awareness Week, which takes place from 9 to 15 October 2023; notes that there will be a "wave of light" taking place across the world on 15 October in memory of babies who have passed away; recognises the work that Baby Loss Awareness Week does in offering support to grieving parents, while breaking the stigma of talking about miscarriage and baby loss; acknowledges the great work done by the Coatbridge-based charity, Baby Loss Retreat, which was founded in February 2018 by Julie and Bryan Morrison; praises the charity for its diligent efforts to support parents and families who have been affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death, and welcomes the work done to ensure easy access to the baby loss Memorial Book, which was introduced earlier in 2023 to ensure that those who have experienced a pregnancy or baby loss can remember their child.
