Celebrating Caledonia Gladiator's Win on British Basketball League Debut in New East Kilbride Home
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates what it understands is Scotland’s only professional basketball franchise, Caledonia Gladiators, which started life in its new purpose-built arena in East Kilbride with a victory against the Surrey Scorchers, winning 86-79; congratulates the huge efforts to have the stadium built on time to welcome the sell-out 1,600-strong crowd; notes that it is only the first stage of the initial £20 million investment; applauds owner, Steve Timoney, for his plans to extend the stadium to accommodate 6,000 seats, and wishes everyone involved continued success in the future.
