Ayr’s Bronwyn Close Named Best in Scotland at the Volunteers for Museum Learning Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ayr’s Bronwyn Close on being named best in Scotland at the Volunteers for Museum Learning Awards 2023; notes that the awards are run by the British Museum and the Marsh Charitable Trust, and aim to celebrate the important contribution that volunteers across the UK make to museums and their visitors; understands that Bronwyn holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Museum Education from the University of Glasgow, and has been volunteering with the Maritime Museum, in Irvine, for one year; recognises her contributions, which include using her MSc to develop the museum's under-fives weekly creative session and education programme; understands that Bronwyn helped develop learning boxes that take maritime heritage to the classrooms of local schools; applauds Bronwyn for all her hard work and contributions, and commends her for this fantastic achievement.
