Lanarkshire Footballers Help Raise Awareness of Suicide Prevention

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges footballers from across Lanarkshire who, it understands, have been helping raise awareness around suicide prevention; notes that over 280 participants, including local businesses, voluntary organisations, charities and groups of friends gathered for a seven-a-side football competition at Ravenscraig Sports Facility; acknowledges that the event was organised in support of the suicide prevention campaigns of both North and South Lanarkshire councils, which aim to tackle the stigma around suicide and encourage open conversations to prevent it, and understands that representatives from Airdrieonians FC, Albion Rovers FC and Motherwell FC joined forces at the tournament.
