Congratulating Oboist, Esther Kallow, on Gaining a Place in the National Youth Orchestra GB

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Esther Kallow on successfully gaining a place in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain (NYOGB) for 2024; understands that Esther is currently an S5 pupil at Larbert High School and is a talented oboist who plays to an advanced level; notes that this is not the first time that Esther’s musical talents have been recognised, following her place as a finalist in the inaugural Falkirk Young Musician of the Year in 2022 and, earlier in 2023, as a regional finalist at the Scottish Young Musician of the Year; further notes that the NYOGB currently comprises of 160 young people between the ages of 13 and 18, playing a wide variety of instruments, and has been providing opportunities for talented teenage musicians for over 70 years; congratulates Esther on her outstanding musical abilities and success, and wishes her and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain all the best for the future.
