Scottish Adoption and Fostering Mark Centenary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Scottish Adoption and Fostering on marking its centenary in 2023; understands that the national organisation was established in 1923, with the aim of delivering a holistic range of high quality placement and adoption services to children in Scotland; recognises what it sees as the invaluable work that the organisation does to connect vulnerable children to safe and loving homes, in line with The Promise; notes that Scottish Adoption and Fostering is inviting members to a reception hosted by the MSP for the Strathkelvin and Bearsden constituency, Rona Mackay, at 6.00 pm on 15 November at the Burns Room to celebrate its 100th year and learn more about its work; applauds the fact that, working in partnership with a range of key agencies and organisations, Scottish Adoption and Fostering is committed to delivering a child-centred service and strives to build on what it sees as its strong reputation in providing lifelong support for children and their families, its innovative approach and its highly skilled staff, all with specific experience in adoption; praises all of the staff and volunteers who have supported the organisation over the past 100 years, with particular credit to the adopted and foster parents who have provided safe and loving homes to their adopted and foster children, and extends its best wishes to all involved in adoption and fostering.
