Borders Family Shortlisted for British Farming Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Robert and Becca Rennie from Mowahaugh and Attonburn farms on being nominated for Sheep Farmer of the Year in the 2023 British Farming Awards; understand that the Rennie family has been working the same land in the Scottish Borders for more than 90 years; further understands that the Rennie family’s investment in new technology has enabled effective tracking of sheep breeding, and the reduction of lameness thanks to the monitoring of sheep movement and the condition of the sheep’s feet; notes Robert and Becca’s efforts to set up a farm shop to sell locally sourced meat and produce to the local area, and wishes them the best of luck at the British Farming Awards that are due to take place on 19 October 2023.
