Glasgow Collie Crowned New Ambassadog for Beatson Cancer Charity

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Chris Maitland, from Glasgow, on his rescue dog, Simba, being crowned the Beatson's Ambassadog; understands that Beatson Cancer Charity supporters voted for the rescue dog, who has been rehomed five times in less than two years; notes that the Border Collie, who will be two years old in December 2023, was entered by his owner, Chris Maitland, after his mum was treated at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre; acknowledges that the Ambassadog helps with a variety of duties, such as photoshoots and becoming the face of next year’s Off the Beatson Track 10K walk; recognises that Simba takes the crown from Teddi, the black German Shepherd from Falkirk, who has served as the Ambassadog since September 2022, and further recognises that Simba will now be the fourth dog to take up the role since the competition was introduced in 2020.
