Dr Ranjit Thomas and His Team Nominated at Prestigious Health Awards

The motion

That the Parliament warmly congratulates consultant haematologist Dr Ranjit Thomas, and his department, on being nominated in the Top Team category at the Scottish Health Awards; understands that they were put forward by grateful patients for the quality of treatment and care that they have received; acknowledges all the hard work that takes place in support of the service, including the secretarial team, the biomedical scientists and pharmacists, health support workers, specialist chemotherapy-trained and ward-based nurses, the embedded clinical nurse specialists and clinical pharmacists, support services and IT, as well as the medical colleagues who provide necessary specialist input; believes that thanks are also due to numerous teams across the central belt, specifically the Beatson oncology and radiotherapy teams, the bone marrow transplant and CAR-T teams, the stem cell harvest teams, the hematopathology molecular and genetics diagnostic teams, and the haemostasis team, all of whom, it understands, continue to offer very specialist, world class support, and wishes Dr Thomas, and his team, every success at the awards ceremony, which are being staged in Edinburgh on 2 November 2023.
