The Beagle Country Pub and Barden Holiday Lodges Wins Thistle Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Beagle Country Pub and Barend Holiday Lodges on winning Tourism and Hospitality Employer of the Year at the inaugural South of Scotland Thistle Awards, which were held in Dumfries; notes that the business, based at Sandyhills in Dumfries & Galloway, is owned by Sarah and Duncan Gell, who took over Barend Holiday Lodges in 2017 and the Beagle Country Pub in 2021; understands that the award judges were “blown away” by the calibre of nominations received and that the judges highlighted the work undertaken by The Beagle Country Pub and Barend Holiday lodges in offering development opportunities and activities through outreach work, and in showcasing the industry as a great career choice for young people, and wishes all at The Beagle Country Pub and Barden Holiday Lodges well as they goes on to the national Scottish Thistle Awards final, and for their continued success.
