Helensburgh Highland Dancer is World Champion

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Eilidh Gammons, from Helensburgh, on winning the world juvenile championship at Cowal Highland Gathering in August 2023; acknowledges that becoming the world champion means that she now has a total of 147 championship titles to her name, having won competitions at home in Scotland, as well as in Australia, Canada, Ireland and France; notes that she has also won the Royal Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing "Oscar", having been named UK champion of champions, an honour that she will be presented with in Edinburgh in November; recognises that she is taught at the Margaret Rose School of Dance in Helensburgh, and is respected by her fellow dancers and teachers as a dedicated student, and wishes her well for further success in the future.
