Speech and Language Therapist Claire Aims for Top Health Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates warmly Claire Dolan, a speech and language therapist, who will represent NHS Dumfries and Galloway in the Allied Health Professionals category at the prestigious Scottish Health Awards; understands that she is nominated for her sterling work in supporting a young boy move from full-time use of a nasogastric tube to full oral feeding; notes that her role sees Claire work with families in acute hospital care and in the community, supporting children and young people who have difficulty with eating, drinking and swallowing, which is also known as dysphagia; understands that Claire remains part of a fantastic group of therapists and community teams providing follow-up development care to families in the region, and wishes her every success at the award ceremony, which will take place in Edinburgh on 2 November 2023.
