The motion

That the Parliament supports Dogs Trust’s campaign to disseminate advice for dog owners during the 2023 Halloween and fireworks season; notes its advice that Halloween sweets meant for humans, such as chocolate, can be extremely toxic to dogs and cause illness, vomiting, and even heart failure in extreme cases; further notes its advice that some dogs are not comfortable with crowds and strangers or are fearful of sudden and unexpected noises, and that this and other similar stimuli can cause them to react in unexpected ways, putting themselves and others in danger if they feel the desperate need to urgently remove themselves from an uncomfortable situation, and urges dog owners to check the Dogs Trust website for more information and advice on how to keep your dog and others safe this Halloween and fireworks season.
