Diana Findley Receives Age Scotland's Jess Barrow Award for Campaigning to Improve the Lives of Older People

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Borders campaigner Diana Findley on being awarded Age Scotland’s national Jess Barrow Award for the work that she has done to improve the lives of older people over the past 23 years; understands that Diana is well known in the Scottish Borders for the inspirational work that she does with and for older people; notes that Diana first got involved in campaigning when she began to undertake promotional work for the newly-established Age Scotland, and that she is now an ambassador for the charity; further notes that, in addition to her work with Age Scotland, she has been a member and trustee of the Scottish Older People’s Assembly since its inception and chair since 2018, and that she sits on the Older People’s Strategic Action Forum and Scottish Borders Council’s Older People’s Planning Partnership, as well as co-founding the Borders Older People’s Forum, and believes that the Jess Barrow Award helps to recognise and celebrate what it sees as Diana’s tireless, energetic and committed campaigning to ensure that the voices of older people are heard loud and clear at all levels of policy- and decision-making.
