Broxburn Academy Debaters Win the Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Broxburn Academy pupils, Emma Bell and Ruby Ferguson, on winning the prestigious Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament at the Law Society of Scotland’s national annual competition; acknowledges that this win is the latest in a series of accomplishments by Broxburn Academy's young debaters in recent years; considers that, since 2016, Broxburn Academy has established itself as one of the most successful schools for debating in Scotland; commends Broxburn Academy for using its expertise in debating to support other schools in West Lothian and across Scotland to establish or improve their debating clubs, and wishes Broxburn Academy continued success for many years to come.
