NHS Dumfries and Galloway Receives Equally Safe Accreditation
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates NHS Dumfries and Galloway on being awarded development accreditation for the Equally Safe at Work programme; understands that the programme has been developed by Close the Gap, Scotland’s women and labour market experts, which supports employers in the public and third sectors in developing gender-sensitive employment practices, by advancing equality at work and preventing violence against women by better supporting survivors of abuse, whether it be coercive, physical or verbal, in the workplace; further understands that Equally Safe accreditation is an integral part of the local implementation of Equally Safe, a strategy to eradicate violence against women and girls that was jointly brought forward by the Scottish Government and COSLA; notes that for NHS Dumfries and Galloway to have been awarded this accreditation, it had to meet six strict, measurable criteria, complete assigned activities, and introduce new initiatives to address gender inequality in the workplace and prevent violence against women; thanks all at NHS Dumfries and Galloway for their work in achieving this accolade, and wishes everyone involved in what it sees as this ground-breaking work every good wish as they continue to work toward a safe, tolerant, flexible, supportive workplace.
