Celebrating the Scottish Borders Inspire Awards

The motion

That the Parliament notes that the Scottish Borders Inspire Awards will be held on 9 November 2023, at the Ednam House Hotel in Kelso; acknowledges that the awards are in recognition of the positive impact and outstanding contributions of young people in the Scottish Borders through volunteering, community and social activism; applauds all those who are nominated across the 12 categories, including Community Hero, Young People’s Champion and Community Youth Practice; notes that the event is being coordinated by Youth Borders, with support from Scottish Borders Council, the Gannochy Trust and Borders Community Action, and that the winners have been chosen by a committee consisting of seven young people from across the Borders; recognises that the event takes place during National Youth Work Week, which highlights the impact of youth services across Scotland; acknowledges what it sees as the positive role that young people and youth work services play in Scotland's communities, and thanks all the nominees for all the time, effort and commitment that they put into improving lives across the region.
