Fersands and Fountain SCIO Wins Small Organisation of the Year at the Celebrate Aberdeen Awards 2023
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Fersands and Fountain SCIO, which won the Small Organisation of the Year award at the recent 2023 Celebrate Aberdeen Awards ceremony; understands that Fersands and Fountain is a grassroots project that was established in 1980 to help deliver services in a regeneration area of Aberdeen, which falls within the 10% poorest parts of Scotland, with the aim of the organisation being to provide a range of vital services to the local community, empowering residents through informal learning, support, education, volunteering and other services to reduce poverty and increase life chances; notes that the awards ceremony is now in its fourth year and pays tribute to the positive impact of individuals, organisations and volunteers in the third sector, following on from the annual Celebrate Aberdeen parade, which took place in August; notes that this year's awards ceremony took place on 28 October at the Chester Hotel in Aberdeen; commends the efforts of all those involved at Fersands and Fountain SCIO, and wishes them all the best for the future.
