Asda Foundation Grants for Local Projects in Central Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that eight Asda stores across the Central Scotland region have awarded 23 local groups in the region with funding totalling £14,512 through the Asda foundation; understands that the Asda Foundation is a charitable company that provides grants to a range of good causes across Scotland and supports local projects that are nominated by the people and communities that they serve; notes that the grants are open to groups that help communities to address the rising cost of living, as well as improving the lives of children and young people; commends the support for key organisations in the Central Scotland region, including an award of £800 funding for Supporting our Community in Hamilton, and £600 to Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust, and believes that the £800,000 donated by the Asda Foundation in 2022 to community projects across Scotland is making a positive difference.
