The motion
That the Parliament congratulates children from the local Hindu community in Eastwood on their outstanding efforts to highlight environmental issues; acknowledges that the Mother Earth Hindu Temple faith group hosted an event at the Greenbank Parish Church in Clarkston as part of the International Green Consumer Day, and that this involved a range of activities for local young people, including arts and crafts, a fancy dress contest and public speaking competition; understands that around 150 people, including 120 children, participated in the Green Consumer Day event in Clarkston and that the principal theme for the day was the avoidance of waste; congratulates the Mother Earth Hindu Temple on marking International Green Consumer Day in this manner, and welcomes the continuing work of the group to organise a range of fantastic events for both members of the growing local Hindu community and people of all backgrounds in Eastwood.
