The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Macmillan Cancer Support Huntly and District Committee on its 50th anniversary; applauds the committee for what it sees as the amazing feat of raising £478,723.67 over the last 50 years, through various fundraising events and generous donations; further applauds chairwoman Margo Stewart, the 15 current members, and its group of supporting "Friends" for keeping this committee actively engaged in the community; notes that these funds are used to offer a wide range of services to people with cancer and their families, to support them on their "cancer journey"; recognises that funds sent to Macmillan through the committee account are used in the north east of Scotland, and that a portion is ring-fenced specifically for people in the AB54 area, which can be claimed, for example, through grants in cases where financial assistance is needed after a cancer diagnosis, and wishes the committee success in future fundraising efforts.
