Newton House Care Home Residents and Staff Raise Funds for Macmillan Cancer Support
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the recent efforts at a care home in East Renfrewshire to raise funds for charity; understands that both residents and staff at the Newton House Care Home in Newton Mearns raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support; notes that the funding was raised at an event, where family and friends joined relatives at the care home, to support the work of Macmillan; recognises that the most recent event at Newton House was the latest in a list of fundraising drives organised by residents and staff, with hundreds of pounds also raised for Macmillan in the previous year, and believes that Macmillan Cancer Support is an outstanding charity that offers a wide range of support services to people who are living with cancer.
