Wemyss Bay Butcher’s Triple Success at Scottish Craft Butcher Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates McCaskie Butchers, in Wemyss Bay, on its success at the Scottish Craft Butcher Awards; notes that its traditional steak pie, chicken chasseur pie and "cheeky wee pie" were all awarded silver titles; understands that the heats of the competition were held in Forth Valley College in September 2023, with judges rating products based on aspects including appearance, flavour, filling and innovation; recognises that these accolades follow on from McCaskie’s boss, Nigel Ovens, and the team taking the Meat Trades Journal’s Butcher Shop of the Year title earlier in 2023, and wishes McCaskie’s all the best as it prepares for its busy festive season.
