Glass Resident, Ian Macpherson, Receives Nuclear Test Medal

The motion

That the Parliament commends Ian Macpherson, of Glass, Aberdeenshire, for receiving his Nuclear Test Medal; understands that the UK Government has provided Nuclear Test Medals for veterans to recognise the significant contribution of those who participated in the UK’s nuclear testing programme in the 1950s and 1960s; recognises that Mr Macpherson served on HMS Warrior in 1957, and participated in the atomic tests off of Christmas and Malden Islands; acknowledges that the medals were received ahead of Remembrance Sunday, and thanks Mr Macpherson and all those who took part in the nuclear testing programme for their service to the nation.
