Applauding the Charitable Dedication of Banff Rotary Club

Lodged by Karen Adam (Scottish National Party) Standard Motion 20 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament applauds the charitable dedication of the Banff Rotary Club, whose fundraising walking challenge successfully raised £3,828 for the kidney dialysis unit in Banff's Chalmers Hospital and other local community groups; notes with appreciation that the walking challenge saw participants collectively trek the distance from Macduff to Boston, in America, and back again, covering a total of 6,140 miles over the month of August 2023; understands that Boston was chosen as it was the location where the first kidney transplant was carried out in 1954 by Dr Joseph Murray, and wishes the Banff Rotary Club further success in its community work, which has been a prominent feature of the Banff community over many years.
