NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Staff Win at the Scottish Health Awards 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates staff from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) and two health and social care partnerships within the NHSGCC area on taking home awards at the Scottish Health Awards ceremony that took place in Edinburgh on 2 November 2023; recognises that the ceremony is an annual event, held to recognise healthcare staff who have gone above and beyond to make a difference for their patients and colleagues; welcomes that the awards help to raise awareness of the hard work and dedication of NHS staff; commends Jane Howie, midwife at the Princess Royal Maternity Unit for winning the Midwife Award, Douglas Bell, advanced nurse practitioner at Kirkintilloch Health and Care Centre, who received the Innovation Award, and Derek Kennedy of Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service for winning Leader of the Year; congratulates the Amma Birth Companions, a charity working with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which won an award for its work in tackling health inequalities; commends all of the winners and the 900 nominees for all of their hard work, dedication and commitment to the NHS in Scotland, and wishes them all the best as they continue their exemplary work in delivering high-quality care for NHS patients.
