Maaria Aziz Selfless Act of Kindness

The motion

That the Parliament commends Maaria Aziz from Motherwell on being awarded aCertificate of Commendation from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS);understands that Maaria has selflessly donated her bone stem cells to the charity,Anthony Nolan, after she was matched to a patient; further understands thatMaaria was recruited onto the Anthony Nolan donor register through the SFRScharity partnership as a senior pupil at Dalziel High school; notes that theSFRS has recruited over 19,000 potential donors to the Anthony Nolan stem cellregister over the past 14 years, matching over 100 donors and patients; wishesMaaria all the best with her studies, and encourages others to join the AnthonyNolan register.
