Acorn Project Named Decarbonisation Project of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Acorn Project on being named decarbonisation project of the year by the Energy Council; notes that this took place at the 14th annual World Energy Capital Assembly Awards of Excellence in London; understands that 2023 has been an important year for the project, following the Prime Minister’s confirmation of the project’s entry into track 2 of the cluster sequencing for carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) process; further understands that the Acorn Project has capacity to permanently store at least 230 million tonnes of CO2 over its lifetime, and believes that the Acorn Project plays an important role in Scotland and the United Kingdom’s energy transition, supporting that process in a sensible and pragmatic manner.
