Congratulations to Alva Development Trust on Being Awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Alva Development Trust on being awarded The King’sAward for Voluntary Service; understands that this is in recognition of theoutstanding level of support provided to the community of Alva and beyondduring the COVID-19 pandemic, and the success that it has made of runningthe community hub, which is based in the Cochrane Hall; recognises that this isregarded as the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK;notes that Alva Development Trust is one of only 20 local charities, socialenterprises and voluntary groups in Scotland to receive the prestigious awardin 2023; commends what it sees as the outstanding efforts of all the volunteerswho work so hard to support their local community, and believes that their workexemplifies the important contribution that volunteers make to all communitiesacross Scotland.
