NHS Borders Charity The Difference’s Tree of Light

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes NHS Borders charity, The Difference, and its Tree of Light initiative for Christmas 2023; understands that the charity is offering people in the Borders an opportunity to dedicate a light in honour of someone special; further understands that the Tree of Light invites anyone to make a dedication and that, if they wish, post a photo on the charity’s virtual tree for a small donation, in return for which The Difference will send participants a handcrafted decoration that can be gifted to those being recognised or kept to honour lost loved ones; pays credit to the Galashiels crafting group, Crafty Dafties, which has kindly given its time and materials to provide the decorations; understands that donations will help to enhance patient care across the Scottish Borders; notes that, in addition to the virtual tree, a real Christmas tree will feature at Borders General Hospital, and further notes that everyone is invited to its lighting ceremony on 5 December at 6.30 pm outside the Chaplaincy Centre.
