The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Hawick Pump Track on being recognised in the first The King’s Award for Voluntary Service; understands that this unique outdoor cycling track in the Scottish Borders is one of just 20 organisations in Scotland that have been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of outstanding community service; notes that this accolade was previously known as The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, and that 2023 marks the first awards in the name of His Majesty King Charles III; understands that this award is equivalent to an MBE, and is the highest honour awarded to voluntary groups in the UK; believes that the pump track has been an incredible asset for the Hawick community and has helped to improve the physical and mental health of those who have made use of it, and thanks the volunteers for their tireless work in making this resource what it is to people in the Hawick community.
