The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Our Lady and Saint Patrick’s High School, Dumbarton (OLSP), as the recipient of the National Nurturing School Award and the Success Looks Different Award; understands that, for the National Nurturing School Award, the school was assessed against a set of quality and performance standards called the Six Principles of Nurture; further understands that assessors from NurtureUK were impressed with the school’s commitment to a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere, which contributed to clear improvements in pupil development, wellbeing and attendance; believes that the Success Looks Different Award, managed by Children In Scotland and Enquire, delivers on the Scottish Government’s commitment to recognise and appreciate success, which involves supporting all pupils within the school, celebrating the achievements of all learners beyond exam results and valuing the voices of pupils and their creativity; understands that one of the notable schemes, which was key in OLSP securing the award, was leading on a joint campus project, "Keep Bellsmyre Beautiful", involving children in the neighbouring early learning and childcare centre, inspiring younger children to take pride in their area and to keep the school and surrounding streets litter free, and thanks the school, including teachers and pupils, for their ongoing commitment to improving the entire community.
